Why we wrote these guides

These guides explain AI through everyday questions from Kerala families, learners and workers.

Most explanations of artificial intelligence are written in English, for people who already work with computers. A Kerala family needs something else: a student who wants to know whether AI can help with a Plus Two chapter, a parent who wonders what a chatbot is doing with their questions, a shopkeeper or a farmer who has heard that AI will change work but has not been told how, and grandparents who would rather ask in Malayalam.

So Engane.AI wrote nine short guides in plain Malayalam and English. There is nothing to install and no sign-in to read them. Every guide ends with one thing you can try in the Engane.AI app, which needs a free account.

The guides are honest about what AI is not. It is not a doctor, a lawyer or a teacher. It can make mistakes and state them confidently. Where a guide gives facts about the world outside the app — how AI is taught in schools, what public bodies recommend — it names the source it took them from.

In Kerala, KITE — the state government's company for technology in schools, a state-owned company since 2017 — runs robotics and AI training as part of its work with government and aided schools. The personality test, IQ puzzles, the career snapshot, the dictionary and a daily allowance of games are free; chat and voice have free daily limits; Study gives every free account one small sample class, after which classes are paid with credits (1 credit = ₹1); the optional career report is ₹100.

Everything on this page about Engane.AI is checked against the app itself. The guides cite public bodies for facts about the wider world, and this hub acknowledges two of them: UNESCO's AI competency frameworks for students and teachers (2024) and its guidance for generative AI in education and research (2023, nine languages); and KITE, Kerala's state-owned company for technology in schools (a company since 2017), which lists robotics and AI training among its programmes. When a guide cannot verify a claim, it leaves the claim out.

Questions people ask

Do I need an account to read the guides?

No. All nine guides and this page are open to everyone, with nothing to install. The app features they point to — chat, voice, Study, the personality test, IQ puzzles, career guidance, the dictionary and (as it rolls out) recipes — need a free Engane.AI account with a verified email.

Are the guides in Malayalam or English?

Both. Every guide has the same content in Malayalam and English, and you switch with the language toggle at the top of the page. Exam, career and technical names stay in English letters so you can search for them.

Is this a full AI course with a certificate?

No. These are nine short reading guides, four to six minutes each, written so a family in Kerala can understand AI and use it well. There is no certificate and no exam. For structured programmes, see the bodies the school guide points to, such as KITE in Kerala.

Who are the guides for?

Anyone in a Kerala family: students from about Class 8 upwards, parents, teachers, shopkeepers, farmers and elders. They use plain language and short sentences. Engane.AI itself is for people aged 13 and over; under 18 with a parent's permission.

Can I trust what an AI chatbot tells me?

Not blindly. AI can make mistakes and state them confidently. The guides on how chatbots work and on safe use show how to check an answer: ask for the source, compare with a textbook or an official website, and never act on a health, legal or money answer without a qualified person. Engane.AI is not a doctor; in an emergency call 108 or 112.

What does it cost to try the app after reading?

A free account gives you chat and voice with daily limits, the personality test, IQ puzzles, the career snapshot (adults today), the dictionary, a daily allowance of games and one small sample Study class. After that, Study classes are paid with credits (1 credit = ₹1) and the optional career report costs ₹100 (100 credits). Recipes are open to everyone signed in and use no credits. Is Engane.AI available on the phone?

Yes. It runs in any web browser and as an Android app on Google Play. An iPhone app is coming; until then the website works on iPhone too.

Where do the facts in the guides come from?

Facts about the app are checked against the app. Facts about the wider world come from public bodies such as UNESCO and KITE, and each guide lists its sources at the end. Anything that could not be verified was left out. The Malayalam text has not yet had a native-speaker proofread.
